Just One Bug

I only took pictures of one bug today, but it's one of my favorites, so I think it's special enough to hold its own. I spotted it flitting through my flashlight beam toward the end of my woods walk, and when it landed I figured it was worth walking to the house to get my camera. It wasn't there when I came back, but I waited a minute or so and it reappeared, and this time it landed somewhere I could get better pictures.

Backyard Bug of the Day:

Green lacewing. They have wings like fairies, I think. To see them flying is a delightful experience, they are so ethereal.

Also, they are predators of pests, so there's that bonus, too.
