It is tricky taking pictures of things underwater when you're not underwater yourself (although I think it's pretty tricky that way, too). Moving water especially is challenging.
Well, impossible, really.
Fortunately, right next to the bank was a stiller pool, where I was able to photograph Backyard Bug of the Day:
There were a fair number of other, similar looking things in the water. As you can probably guess, these were in a spot where there was more flow:
Taking pictures of insects on top of the water is a little bit easier. Here are a couple of springtails:
I was not trying to take a picture of a bug here. I didn't even know that I did until I saw it on the computer. This is a pretty small flower. That is a tiny bug.
I saw a few uncooperative spiders today for Arachnid Appreciation:
