I only had ten minutes to look for bugs today, but since it is summer, and there are flowers in bloom, in theory I should have been able to find a lot of bugs in those ten minutes. There have certainly been days when I have found a great variety of bugs in only a small area of the backyard, in a very short time. Today, alas, was not one of those days.
Backyard Bug of the Day:
Wasp on goldenrod
Red-headed ash borer
I can't remember the name of this bug from the other day, and I don't feel like looking it up again. However, it is a Hemiptera, and when I read about it the other day it said the bug feeds on caterpillars, but this one appears to be sucking nectar from the goldenrod.
Aaaaaaand... that's it.
