'Tis Seasonable

Today was "seasonable," which means it was in the 40s, and even without going outside I knew that the bugs were enjoying the warmer, sunny weather, because I could see them flying around outside the windows. I saw them flying around outside, too, but none of them really wanted their picture taken, or they just were enjoying flying around in the sunshine too much to land. If that was the case, I don't blame them - flying is the superpower I have always wanted. I think it was mostly gnats, but it's hard to tell when a tiny bug zooms past you.

I did get a shot of this one:
... because it was caught in a spider web (but still alive). So this is why there are still spiders around - because there are still bugs around to eat.

There was also a ladybug:
I can't help but wonder why a ladybug is still wandering around. I would have thought once it found a place to spend the winter it would stay put. But here it is. And that reminds me - the woolly bear was not in the bin today, either. Well, I didn't see it - there are some leaves in there, it could be under them (I have no idea how leaves get in there). Or it could have decided it didn't like the package bin and moved on. It would give me peace of mind for it to go somewhere where it was not in constant danger of being smushed. On the other hand, I think all of the packages I have ordered have been delivered, so it might be safe for the time being.

Another spider running around in the house. It's smaller than it probably looks in this picture. I am not sure if it came in from the yard, came in with the Christmas tree, or was in the car and came in with the groceries tonight - I found it when putting groceries away. It's outside now, though.
